The things I´ve seen
The composition places the woman at the center of the picture; her intense, direct gaze creates an immediate tension and challenges the viewer to engage with her inner world. The title “The Things I Have Seen” suggests a subjective chronicle. Through the use of chiaroscuro elements,i modeled areas of light and shadow in such a way that the face appears to have a three-dimensional depth and the individual brushstrokes remain recognizable as gestural statements. The coarse texture of the painting surface remains partially visible, emphasizing the materiality of the pigment and giving the work an immediate, sensually perceptible presence.
